Shortening links

Shortening a link allows you to create a new, much shorter URL that refers to the original page. Shortening links is useful for posting them on social networks (e.g. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook...) or to send them via SMS or print them on paper.

As unregistered users

If you are not registered on Urly or you are not logged in, you can create a link from the Urly home page.

In the text box, paste the address of a web page you want to shorten, then click on Shorten. You will get a short link, which you can copy and paste wherever you want.

You can also click Share to share the newly created link on popular social networks. You can also generate a QR code of your link.

Links created as an unregistered user are no longer editable and you will not be able to view their number of visits. We suggest that you register to maintain a history of all the links you have shortened and to access other advanced functions.

As registered users

After logging in to Urly you can quickly create a link from the main page of your "Panel", or you can open the My links section and click the "Shorten a link" button.

In the text box, paste the address of a web page you want to shorten, then click on Shorten link. You will get a short link, which you can copy and paste wherever you want.

You can also click Share to share the newly created link on popular social networks. You can also generate a QR code of your link.

From the My links page you can view a history of all the links you have shortened: this is useful for finding a previously created link. Each link also shows the number of visits it has received (visits made by you are not counted).
